With a suitcase full of magic and a book of poems, he has travelled around the world many times: he has performed in the Bolivian Andes and the Brazilian favelas, in the African villages of Nigeria, Kenya, and Madagascar, among the young people of the Philippines and Shanghai.And more: among the many Chiriperos of Santo Domingo and the countless Boys’ Town children of Mombay.He has crossed the ends of the earth: in the Amazon rainforest, among the ice of Antarctica, in the desolate deserts of Somalia, in Mexico at the border with the United States, in the land of Tex Willer, in the Gaza Strip with the many children of Hamas.<\/p>

He has suffered for the tragedies of forgotten wars among the children of Northern Uganda and the “forced” labour of thousands of Cambodian children in the brick factories of Battambong.He has shared joys and sorrows with the street children of the great metropolises of Asia and Latin America.<\/p>

He has performed on five continents, in hundreds of different settings: indoors, in incredibly packed small halls, in high-mountain caves, or outdoors under forest trees, and even in stadiums capable of holding more than 5,000 children.<\/p>

He gave a magic wand to John Paul II, to Pope Benedict XVI and to Pope Francis; he entertained, alleviating a little of their misery, the many children of Korogocho, alongside Alex Zanotelli; he rejoiced at the smile of Mother Teresa and her young sisters in the courtyard of the mother house in Calcutta with a magic show.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

He is Don Silvio Mantelli, a Salesian priest, better known as Mago Sales, missionary of joy!!He defines himself<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

He has created a Foundation and an Association (Smilab) through which he promotes the art of magic with shows, events and theatrical exchanges, raising significant funds for the realisation of humanitarian projects in missions around the world.<\/p>

He was the mentor of Arturo Brachetti and of many other excellent Italian illusionists.<\/p>

The magic of Don Silvio is his child’s heart, which leads him to live his life for childhood \u2014 especially the most abandoned \u2014 to whom he constantly gives smiles and joy (he currently helps more than 4,000 children around the world to live with dignity).<\/p>
