The History of the Museum
The Museo della Magia di Cherasco (CN) was founded on the initiative of Don Silvio Mantelli, better known as Mago Sales, who over the years and throughout the world has collected materials and objects belonging to the great magicians of history.
The museum building was established in an old nursery school, which has been renovated and adapted for the initiative. It is also home to SMILAB, an association that runs the “Laboratorio del Sorriso” (Smile Laboratory) and “Magia senza frontiere” (Magic Without Borders), also promoted and chaired by Mago Sales as part of volunteering and solidarity projects.
The Museum is divided into four themed rooms set up scenographically, a theater dedicated to illusionism shows, a library entirely dedicated to the theme of magic, with over 18,000 volumes available for study and research.
The museum experience is a true journey in which <1>children and adults<2> are actively involved in a <3>fairytale setting<4> where the proverbial “do not touch” warning can be momentarily set aside to experiment and discover.
